GTA 6: All the Latest News and Rumors for Grand Theft Auto 6

Grand Theft Auto fans are getting excited after a leaker claims to have information regarding the map locations and even some story details for the upcoming sixth entry in the iconic series.

Although it’s only a leak, and nothing official, the handful of details are enough to excite any GTA fan, but they must be taken with a helping of skepticism.
The leak was shared on Pastebin, where a number of other ‘reliable’ details about the next Grand Theft Auto game have been posted, including one leaker who correctly predicted the specs of the PS5 - later confirmed by Sony.

Bad news for PS4 and Xbox One fan

Grand Theft Auto 6 is one of the most highly anticipated games on the horizon, but PS4 and Xbox One fans looking forward to it could have been delivered some bad news.

Grand Theft Auto 6 release date news today includes what could be a major blow for PS4 and Xbox One fans.

Grand Theft Auto 6 hasn’t been officially announced yet but fans are already looking forward to the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. And in recent weeks there has been plenty of speculation surrounding GTA 6 and the release date of the new title from Rockstar Games. Some big claims about GTA 6 emerged in an anonymous post on Pastebin allegedly penned by a third-party developer.
This developer claimed to have knowledge of Sony’s plans for the PS5, and they claimed GTA 6 would be a timed exclusive for the console.

Sony allegedly paid “big money” to secure GTA 6 as an exclusive for one month on the PS5.
However, following hot on the heels of that news another post has appeared on Pastebin allegedly revealing more details about GTA 6.
The recent post on Pastebin has now been deleted, but Dexerto managed to capture more information about it before it was taken offline.
And the GTA 6 post makes the big claim that the next Grand Theft Auto game won’t be coming to the PS4 due to “memory restrictions”.
If that’s the case then GTA 6 could also be skipping the Xbox One and solely focusing on next-gen consoles.
The alleged leaker also wrote: “In the title which will make you a kind of a drug lord, you will start as a small time guy in Liberty City doing odd chores and small-time thefts and eventually work your way to Vice City, where you will join a famous gang.
“You will be tasked to look after business in Liberty City until you are brought back to Vice City and soon become the drug lord.”

What has Rockstar said about GTA 6 on the record?

Rockstar North’s former President teased the next series entry back in 2013 in a four-part interview with Develop magazine, which got the online rumour mill started:
“We don’t know what GTA 6 will be, but we’ve got some ideas,” said Benzies in the interview. “We’ve got about 45 years’ worth of ideas we want to do. We’ll pick the right ones. It comes from the idea first. Where it is going to be set is the first question. That then defines the missions; you’re doing different things in LA than in New York or Miami. The map and story get worked up together, and the story is a basic flow of how it works out so you can layer the mission in."
Of course, Benzies didn’t give much away about what form GTA 6 will take and recently left Rockstar North in fairly acrimonious circumstances. However, it’s unlikely that Rockstar will rip up the GTA series’ tried-and-tested development process, where building a world comes first with characters and structures layered on top. GTA 5 was created by 1000+ developers based across studios worldwide, so it’d be a brave move to change the template. In fact, it’s probable the location is already set: we spoke to a software provider at E3 2015, speaking under discretion, who suggested work on GTA 6 was already well underway.
